Introduction
A new publication in our Spotify / iTunes / Google Play / Amazon-Profiles is long overdue, and there was a song on our album that we felt didn't get enough attention when the album was originally released: SIRENS. The song was always a hit at our concerts (whether online or offline), is great to sing along to and has lyrics that still speak to our souls. That's why we decided to put SIRENS back in the spotlight in a new form. Today [07.08.2020] the acoustic version including a YouTube video by Ricardo Fasoli is coming from Creative Wedding out and next week [14.08.2020] we will release 3 remixes from different artists. Here I will tell you a little about the background of Sirens:
History of creation
As some of you may have noticed, we were in Lebanon twice in 2017, each time for two weeks. We were hired by the owners of some high-quality restaurants in Beirut to perform in different restaurants twice a week. During our first stay, we stayed in an AirBnB in the middle of a more alternative part of town, not far from the center. The city around us was incredibly loud day and night, and that's exactly where Anna wrote 'Sirens'.

The fermentation process
As is sometimes the case with songs and ideas, they need to mature. Sirens had been in the drawer since 2017. We knew it was a good song and that we wanted to release it soon, but something was holding us back. When we crowdfunded our album '#hashtag' at the end of 2018 / beginning of 2019 and were in the middle of recording the album, we finally found what was still bothering us. Inspired and spurred on by the successful crowdfunding campaign, the final version of Sirens was created almost two years later, which retained most of the lyrics but had completely new melodies, especially in the verses.
Back to the Roots
Because we had a relatively tight schedule around our album release, we were unfortunately unable to release more than 2 singles (HASHTAG and SKIN DEEP). That's why Sirens was simply included on the album and didn't get any special attention. But because we like the song so much and it's always been well received live, it deserves its own spotlight.
Our very first release was a piano version of About You in 2018. Back then, we wanted to test whether there was any interest in our own music. ABOUT YOU was very well received and encouraged us to release more of our own music. With the acoustic version of SIRENS, we are now going back to our beginnings. The style is the same, but everything else around it has evolved, just like we ourselves have.

MÆKS FREŸ / Toby Daxx and Stormbreakers have taken on the song and each produced their own version of it. We are really excited that you can finally hear the new interpretations!
